At many times on our journey, we get so focused on the busyness of our daily lives, we neglect what we are focused on. Tonight we will look at a great reminder of the relationship of who we are, and Who God is.
Psalm 63 (NKJV)
A Psalm of David When He Was in the Wilderness of Judah.
1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. (In a world system where there is no hope) (Asher & Bennett Ice Fishing Story)
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. (A fullness)
6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. (I am quick to realize when you have moved or worked).
8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.
9 But those who seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 They shall fall by the sword; They shall be a portion for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him shall glory; But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
6 “Your right hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemy in pieces.
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Gen 17:3 Records that Abram collapsed when God spoke to Him
Joshua Collapsed when he experienced the presence of the Lord
Ezekiel collapsed when the glory of the Lord appeared to Him.
Daniel collapsed on the ground when he encountered the glory of God
Peter, James, and John all collapsed at the sight of God’s glory when it was manifested to them.
Paul collapsed on the earth when he saw Christ on the road to Damascus.
18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Weisrbe: This vision of Christ was totally different in appearance from the Saviour that John knew in flesh when he was ministering on earth. He was not the gentle Jewish carpenter. He is the risen, glorified, exalted son of God, the Priest-King who has the authority to judge all men, beginning with his own people.
The Lord reassured John by touching him and speaking to him. We have no need to fear for life, because He is the living One, we have no need to fear death, because He conquered death. We have no need to fear eternity, because He holds the keys-He has the final and full authority!
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
This is a place of Repair
This is a place of Refuge
This is a place of Rallying
THis is a place of Victory

We see this played out through our kids, in our Sunday school program. We have visited the the OT where many unlikely candidates were used by God when they simply focused on relying on the right hand of God.
